Privacy Policy

How Yongdu handles asset records, iCloud data, exchange-rate requests, and your choices.

Last updated:

01 / Scope

Yongdu is provided by the Yongdu developer. For privacy questions, product support, and data requests, email support@yongdu.uk.

This policy covers the Yongdu iOS app and yongdu.uk. The app does not require an account with the developer. Optional iCloud features use your Apple Account.

02 / On-device information

Asset names, categories, tags, prices, purchase dates, usage periods, valuations, financing details, ongoing costs, sale records, notes, change logs, and purchase-planning assumptions are stored locally by default. They support cost, equity, depreciation, repayment, and chart calculations. Preferences and cached exchange rates are also stored locally.

The app does not send these asset records to a developer-operated server and does not include advertising-tracking SDKs. Widgets read summaries and related preferences through an on-device App Group.

03 / iCloud and exports

Enabling iCloud sync or selecting “Upload Current Data to iCloud” sends preferences, categories, tags, and an asset data package to Apple’s iCloud service. Apple processes this data under its terms and privacy policy. Turning sync off does not automatically delete previously uploaded copies.

You choose where exported JSON backups or CSV files are saved or shared. They may include full asset information and are handled by recipients or storage providers you choose. Restoring from iCloud or importing a full backup replaces local asset records. Keep any records you need before proceeding.

04 / Exchange-rate requests

When exchange rates need refreshing, the app requests public rates for its supported currencies over HTTPS from Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.dev). Requests contain base and quote currency codes, not your asset names, prices, balances, notes, or passcode.

As with other network requests, the provider may receive your IP address, request time, and network-protocol metadata. The provider controls its infrastructure and logs; the developer does not control its log-retention periods. iCloud, email, and external websites are also subject to their providers’ policies.

05 / Permissions and security

The local passcode is stored in the device Keychain. Face ID / Touch ID authentication is performed by the system; the app receives the result, not face or fingerprint templates. Manage these features in Passcode & Security. The local lock does not replace device-level security.

Plan-end reminders require notification permission and are scheduled locally. Notifications may contain asset names. Disable reminders in the app, or change permission and preview visibility in iOS notification settings. Core recordkeeping does not require notifications.

06 / Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete or replace them or remove the relevant app data. Edit or delete individual assets, or use the clearing option in Settings → Backup & Restore. It clears assets, custom categories, tags, hidden categories, and the locally cached iCloud asset package, while keeping language, currency, theme, exchange-rate cache, and the local passcode. Local passcode verification is required.

Clearing local data or uninstalling the app does not delete exported files, copies on other devices, or iCloud data. Manage those separately in their storage locations and Apple’s available iCloud controls. The local passcode may remain in Keychain and is managed separately in Passcode & Security. There is no developer account to close.

Information you voluntarily send by support email is used to handle your request and necessary follow-up, and deleted when no longer needed unless retention is legally required. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of support correspondence we hold. We cannot remotely read, recover, or delete asset records held only on your device.

07 / Website and email

The website calculator runs locally in your browser and does not submit asset information. The website includes no analytics scripts, advertising scripts, marketing cookies, registration, or asset-upload endpoint. Contact links open your email client; only when you send a message will the developer and email providers receive your address, message, and attachments. Do not send local passcodes, Apple Account passwords, or complete asset backups. The website stores your selected language and theme only in your browser. Clear this site’s browser data to reset them; these preferences are not uploaded.

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver and secure the website, Cloudflare may process access metadata such as IP addresses, requested paths, timestamps, and browser information under its privacy policy.
